ECG 1a. The ECG above belongs to a 46 years-old man who was admitted to the emergency department with
the complaint of chest pain. It was recorded just before his coronary angiography.
The ST segment elevation in leads II, III, and aVF show inferior wall involvement,
The tall R and T waves in lead C2 show posterior wall involvement,
The ST segment elevation in leads V5 and V6 show lateral involvement,
He was diagnosed as acute inferoposterolateral wall myocardial infarction.

ECG 1b. The ECG above belongs to the same patient. It was recorded 4 hours after the culprit artery was opened by
successful PTCA + stenting. ST segment elevations are not seen anymore.
Now subtle q waves are beginning to emerge in the inferior leads, V5 and the V6.
Also, the T wave in lead V2 is taller now.
